After a three year absence from showing, I decided to start looking for a puppy. My friend Jan and I attended the American Boxer Club specialty in May 2006. We must have walked the parking look 100 times looking for the right puppy. When the weekend was over, Jan found a real cutie now named Mason. I, however, was still searching.
After Memorial Day, the desire to find a puppy was even greater so I decided to search a few web sites dealing with Boxer breeders. After a few contacts, I became discouraged. Didn't anyone have puppies?
Then I came across a breeder in Canada who just happened to have a show puppy for sale. She sent me pictures and videos and I fell in love with this little guy. His name was Dex and he was named after the movie, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. Because Dex was from near Calgary, he had to fly to Ontario where we picked him up in June.
Dex is now a 21 months old. He received a 4 pt. major in Louisville, Kentucky in March, won a 3 pt. major in Harrisburg in April, and got another single point in late April in Columbus. Over Memorial Day he received yet another point with his owner, Margie. In June the 10th point was given to him by Barbara Alderman.
Dex took July off and continued his show career in August. He managed to take several first places but was awarded no points. In September he traveled to Clarksburg were he received a reserve and then won WD, BW and BOB under Toddie Clark. The following weekend he won another reserve and another point under Cindy Meyer.
Dex now has 14 points. He received his 13th point on 10/6/07 under Nancy Dinkfelt. Then he traveled to Maryland and went WD and BW for his 14th point on 11/26/07.
Dex finished his Championship on Dec. 14th in Cleveland, Ohio.

On 4/23/07 Dex won another point bringing his total to 8. He won WD and BOW at the Licking River Kennel Club show in Columbus, Ohio. He was handled by owner Margie Greco.
Dex Wins Again!!!
On 5/24/07 Varsity's Sky Captain won another point for a total of 9. He was shown by his owner, Margie, at the Trumbull Co. KC show in New Castle, PA. The judge for the day was Robert Whitney.
Dex Wins Sweeps
On 6/9/07 Dex won Grand Sweeps at the McKinley KC show. The sweeps was sponsored by the Ohio Boxer Club.
Dex Wins 10th Point!!
On 6/10/07 Dex went WD and BOW for his 10th point. He was shown in the classes by Marylou Hatfield and was taken back in by Ann Keil. Thanks to both ladies for the great job of handling Dex.
Dex wins 11th Point and goes BOB
On 9/16/07 at the Clarksburg KC show, Dex won his 11th point under judge Toddie Clark. She then awarded him BOW and BOB (over the 2 specials). He was handled to this win by owner, Margie Greco.

On 10/6/07 Dex won his 13th point under judge Nancy Dinkfelt at the Fort Steuben KA show in Aliquippa, PA. He was shown by his owner, Margie Greco.
Dex wins 14th Point in Maryland
Dex traveled to Maryland over Thanksgiving to try to finish his Championship. However, we fell short by one point. Dex went reserve on Sunday, November 25th but earned his 14th point on Monday the 26th. He was shown by handler, Marylou Hatfield.
