The year 2000 began with a search for a new show dog. It seemed like it was getting harder to find quality puppies. A friend said she was traveling to SC to see a puppy. Another litter there was also available, so I asked to go along. There running with his sisters was Syrr Run's Untouchable aka Jake.
Jake was a one of a kind dog. A beautiful fawn with a great personality. He entered the show ring at 8 months and from that point on we never looked back.
I was so proud to hear all the nice comments from the judges as they awarded him his points. I was lucky enough to get the first five points on Jake and the rest of the points came under the handling of Marylou Hatfield.
I'll never forget the day he finished. I was at school on my planning period. I was reading my mail and the showboxer list was up for the day. I scrolled down to see the results and almost cried out in joy. There was Jake's name listed as Winner's Dog. Since I was alone, I couldn't tell anyone until I returned home that evening.
